Dr Lisha Shiel (she/her)

Dr Shiel is a Clinical Psychologist with over 14 years experience of working in the NHS. She is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and holds practitioner memberships with the Association of Clinical Psychologists- UK. Dr Shiel has a keen interest in the health of people of the Global majority and takes into account the how an individual's different identities (e.g. race, culture, sexuality) can influence people's experience of the world and relationships. She is a practitioner member with the Black, African and Asian Therapists Network.

Dr Shiel specialises in working with people who are experiencing psychological distress and/or relational difficulties that get in the way of living their preferred lives. These difficulties may be linked to traumatic experiences, difficult childhoods or more recent significant life events. She is trained in offering both brief and long term therapy to individuals and couples. Dr Shiel holds the assumption that people are the experts of their own lives and believes in taking a collaborative approach to address mental health difficulties.
